There were many people, books, discussions and observations that influenced our decision to homeschool but if I had to boil it down to the most powerful influencer that God used to point us down this path it would be this book, A Biblical Home Education by Ruth Beechick.

I recently picked it up again. It had been 10 years or so since I last read it. This book is spot on. It is chocked full of wise advice. It casts a vision for homeschooling that I still hold on to this day.

Ruth has a unique background in education. She was a public school teacher and she was a college dean of education yet here she is fully recommending and lifting up homeschooling as an excellent education choice for children. She is encouraging and she simplifies the whole process of education into a manageable endeavor for parents.

If you are considering homeschooling I’d highly recommend reading this book, prayerfully, with an open heart.
